Hydro power plants

Hydropower

_

Hydropower plants use water as a source of energy to rotate a turbine-like propeller, which then rotates a metal shaft into an electric generator, which is the engine that produces electricity.

Hydropower generation is largely free of several major classes of environmental impacts associated with non-renewable energy sources. Unlike fossil fuel power plants, hydroelectric power generation does not emit toxic pollutants.
